WWOOF Nepal offers a wide range of unique farmstay experiences, stretching from lowland areas at 300 meters to high-altitude farms at 2,300 meters. Here are a few examples of places where you can stay and immerse yourself in authentic rural life.
Everest Region:
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Everest, this farmstead offers stunning views and a chance to participate in everyday agricultural life. Guests can enjoy fresh, home-cooked Nepalese meals, help raise chickens, and take part in seasonal crop cultivation.
Pokhara & Begnas Lake:
Close to the scenic Begnas Lake, this eco-friendly homestead features organic coffee farming and sustainable construction using local materials. The host is expanding the coffee plantation and welcomes creative volunteers to join in eco-building and farming projects.
Chitwan (Between Narayani and Rapti Rivers):
This riverside farm focuses on livestock and aquaculture. Volunteers can assist with feeding goats and fish, watering crops, and maintaining the fish pond’s fencing. For cultural immersion, guests can enjoy jungle safaris, elephant rides, or volunteer teaching at a nearby school.
Terai Region Farm:
On 1.5 hectares of fertile land, this farm grows rice, maize, and wheat, along with vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, sponge gourd, and pumpkin. The fruit orchard includes mango, pomegranate, guava, lychee, jackfruit, banana, and papaya, supported by an on-site nursery. The farm also has a variety of livestock, including a buffalo, two cows, two oxen, a goat with kids, and 50 pairs of pigeons.
Dhunche (2,300 meters elevation):
Situated in the hilly plateau of Dhunche, this high-altitude farm maintains a cool average temperature of 15°C. The farm is home to 25 yaks, which are moved to a shed 20 km away at even higher elevations during the summer months and returned for winter.
