Introduction: 15 acres of mixed use - amenity, native bush, organic orchard in need of rejuvenation, grazing, recreational woodland. Animal and Bird Eco Sanctuary. Friends of Sherwood are working on Wetland and native bush planting. ID and removal of invasive plants using non-toxic methods and happy to share their experiences of keeping their neighbourhood as free as possible of toxic chemicals, waste and other pollution - and applying it at Nestleby Grove. Opportunities to learn about peafowl, chickens, sheep, ducks, hedgehogs & cats. Help set up a co-operative organic garden using Hugelkultur and other organic methods. Exploring ways to control very invasive weeds ie, Lizard's tail, jasmine etc. Opportunity for beehives if suitable people turn up. Keen to develop a parallel society and especially a community currency throughout NZ. General Information: There are 5 general zones in the property, each with their own priorities, and it is challenging to develop them all to their maximum potential, to enhance the whole ecosystem; as well as becoming as self-sufficient as possible.
